DS Advent Calendar, Days 18, 19 & 20: Lighting, 3 Ways

We’re in the home stretch of the DS Advent Calendar, and today’s triple-advent is all about lighting. Three days, three lights, and here they are:

Day 18: Industrial lights – we love these vintage Halophane lights with corrugated glass and brushed aluminum shells, and they’d look great in a kitchen. We also have more traditional Halophane lights, but sometimes a space requires something with more oomph. Like these. Large vintage industrial lights, $875 ea.

Day 19: Schoolhouse lights – they’re simple and classic, and come in so many shapes and sizes that it can be tough trying to decide. Like industrial lights, these are usually sold to be used in kitchens, but they are no strangers to hallways, bathrooms, bedrooms or even covered porches. Schoolhouse lights $85-$650 (most are around $250).

Day 20: Crystal Chandelier – Vintage crystal brings a warm sparkle to any room, but consider using these traditional lights in an unconventional place – like an over-sized chandelier in a small powder room, or in an otherwise minimal space – for a punch of instant glamour. Crystal chandeliers, $2500-3800.
